Offering individual health insurance coverage to West Virginians who have pre-existing,
severe or chronic medical conditions.

 AccessWV is
a health plan created by West Virginia statute to provide health insurance to West
Virginians who have been unable to find or who have been denied health insurance
in the private market because of a medical condition. It also provides coverage
to people who are eligible under the Federal Portability Act or under the IRS Health
Coverage Tax Credit Program.

Here’s how AccessWV can help you!
In 2004 the West Virginia Legislature created the West Virginia Health Insurance
Plan, now called AccessWV. AccessWV guarantees that all West Virginia residents
who qualify can purchase health insurance through the plan, regardless of their
current and past health circumstances. This plan is offered by the State of West
Virginia.
